Hey, we're having little bits of progress wielding the Keyboard of Justice to defeat evildoers.
There's an old scam where someone takes deposits for apartments that don't exist. Well, we help the folks in NYC send away on such scammer. Special thanks to the DA's office in Manhattan, and to the folks who work for Jack McCoy, and for the folks who still humor me and laugh at the joke.
Also, we're making progress with the Nigerian scammers who send people fake cashier's checks. I'm seeing patterns in their IP addresses, and hope to block the ISPs they use. I'm considering asking people to waste the time of the scammers, and then to get them to waste Fedex charges, since that's how they send the fake checks. I gotta ask our lawyers and the Feds if this is a good idea.
Finally, we seem to be making real progress with unscrupulous brokers in NYC. I've been send a lot of warnings to fee brokers posting in nofee, and brokers posting in owners. Some clean up their act after one warning, sometimes it takes several.
However, I'm one persistent nerd.
