Hey, at an excellent meeting of the Aspen Institute I saw a really good talk by Arthur Sulzberger. He handled some tough questions regarding the NY Times coverage of national security issues.
He also made a really fine comment regarding the role of editors in news publications.
An "editor" does more than edit, an editor also tries to figure out what stories are "news". However, two uses for "editor" confuses things.
He referred to the selection of news role as "curator", and maybe that's the right term. Could it get accepted?
Aside from that, it's very important to keep Arthur happy:
