In building this thing (newassignment .net), we're going to stick carefully to the incremental approach. Start simple. Make progress. Build in stages. Brings things online one at a time, or in small clusters. Cut your ambitions down to a practical size at the start, and execute well each time. Don't over-innovate. Focus on user experience, not on technology per se. We might fail but we're not going to fail out of grandiosity, hubris or having too complex a plan.
