Hey, these guys do good work:
DonorsChoose.org is running in second place behind the project backed by Procter & Gamble.
If we win, all the award proceeds (up to $5 million) will go to classroom projects on our site, which are overwhelmingly from high-need schools in low-income communities. And the voters would get to decide
which classroom projects to fund! DonorsChoose would give every voter a philanthropic gift certificate which they could spend on the project of their choice and then hear back from the classroom they chose to help.
The Members Project is supposed to be about participatory philanthropy, and DonorsChoose.org is the one finalist which plans to "let the people decide" how to allocate the award proceeds.
