Hey, I attended that conference last week, it was really good, and here Louise MacBain summarizes the results:
After the Summit's three days of intensive and far-reaching discussions last week, I truly believe we have developed a new globalization platform–one that is cross-disciplinary, and that takes as its starting point the fact that culture is at the heart of every global conflict and every global opportunity today.
The summit's goals are not arbitrary, they are born of necessity. In seeking insight into how the brain of the terrorist works, for example, the summit sought more than the geopolitical and historical causes that can be both confounding and contentious. So we invited the top minds from the fields of neuroscience and clinical psychology to provide a greater understanding of how cultural identity and poverty can drive the human mind to extreme thoughts and actions. The level of threat that every world citizen faces today demands that we take creative, collaborative approaches such as this to every pressing issue.
