Big support for war veterans from Obama and IAVA

Hey, yesterday was a big day for troops and veterans. The Pentagon announced that the use of "stop-loss", which keeps service members beyond their original enlistment term, will be phased out. Here's some information from the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America:

"The Pentagon announced that they will be phasing out the use of "stop-loss", which has
been used to involuntary extend the enlistments of some service members. The Pentagon
also agreed to begin paying $500 per month to those who currently forced to stay beyond
their original enlistment term, which is a policy that IAVA has been supporting for a
long time."

Also, President Obama worked with IAVA and the other major veterans organizations, and
made a decision not to move forward with a proposal to bill a veteran's private
insurance for the cost of caring for a service-connected injury.
