Helping out the US-Palestinian Partnership

Hey, the folks in the Israeli, Palestinian, and US governments encourage us all to help out small businessmen in places like Ramallah and Nablus. It's related to the US-Palestinian Partnership.

I figure I know something about computer centers, so I figured I'd contribute something to buy 'em a bunch of okay Internet-capable desktops to help out. What they tell me is that:

"The region needs to reach out to young people, to connect them with new ideas and with one another, to show them a path way from despair to hope."

Check out Tomorrows Youth Organization. Here's their announcement:

The funds will be used to buy 9 updated, web-ready computers and necessary accessories for TYO’s computer lab in Nablus.
This hardware will enable the most disadvantaged and marginalized
children, youth and women in Nablus, Palestine to connect with old and
new friends and resources beyond their city, which is encircled by
military checkpoints.

Keep your eyes on this page to see the computers in action once we
get them purchased and installed! A preview of how the computers will
make life better in Nablus is available here. In the meantime, shukran ktir, Craig, from the whole TYO Nablus community!

Next: microfinance mostly to women-run businesses via LendForPeace.org

Specials thanks to folks at State Dept Public Diplomacy and the Aspen
Institute Middle East Study Group.
