I absolutely love Northern Flickers. I never knew they existed till yesterday morning when out of the BLUE one landed in my backyard. I don't think I have ever been more amazed by a bird. Gorgeous. Red chevron on the back, dark half-moon on the front. Just beautiful.

It was cute when Mr. Flicker was drumming on our roof vents at noon. This morning it was at 5:30am so I decided I'd show him who's boss.
He wasn't buying it. Talking to him and tossing pebbles that were landing all around him did nothing. I had to take out the ladder and *climb on the roof* to make him grudgingly move off. LOL
