Gf Doesn't seem to be an American Goldfinch or a Lesser Goldfinch.

John Callendar, who's been very good at this, seems to confirm it's a female Western Tanager. Check out the remote video photo during our webcam experiment.

Agreed as to it being a female Western Tanager.
We had a shot of one on your deck during the CONE Sutro Forest run, I think, but we never got enough votes to get an official ID. That was on May 7, 2007. See:

This bird looks quite similar to that one. Two and a half years is a long time in the life of a small songbird, but I can't help wondering if this could be the same individual bird.
