Tammy_duckworth Women now make up 11% of the forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, so this is a real urgent time to help out.  They're facing serious, unique service and homecoming challenges, yet most have largely been overlooked and underreported.

Check out this new report from the Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America with the most up to date information on a broad range of issues including: sexual assault and trauma, employment, homelessness, family, childcare, and divorce issues.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Good to know there's serious attention being paid.
I recognize the President's Ass't Secty for Veteran's Affairs, Tammy Duckworth, in the photo that is currently accompanying this post. I was living just west of Chicago as she was beginning her public life following her rehabilitation from her battle-injuries. Politics in Chicago is a great spectator sport, and she was certainly worth noting for what she brought to Henry Hyde's district, which got a lot of attention and served somewhat as a crucible for the rest of the nation's attitudes on the war, veterans and peace. Although I wasn't in her district but she brought a genuine breath of fresh air, and some genuine depth in her perspective on what mattered, in what can be a pretty close and stifling atmosphere, especially in metro chicago's political landscape.
