A tree falls in the forrest;
I hear it;
Do I exist?

All depends on the perspective.
100 years from now most people would never have heard about the individual who heard the tree fall so long ago.
In your case people may know if you due to your fame, yet they would know know you heard the tree fall.
I know of a number of wonderful persons, who did not have children, and who contributed so much as teachers, but who if anyone will remember those individuals in the future as for most there is no memorial to these folks.
Animals live full lives, hear the trees fall, but do not write the stories of their lives. Most poor or working class folks lives are not recorded in stories or books, though stats may live on.
That question or similar questions live on and on as there is no good answer to this question.
Would also say that folks that live close to Mother Earth where they may hear a tree fall, are living a better and fuller life then those who lose contact with Mother Earth.
Poor or homeless folks that may enjoy Mother Earth may very well have a better quality of life than the rich who lose contact with Mother Earth for example.

Thanks for the question, it really is a good one for each of us to consider…
The 4 Major Attitudes (states of mind) of learning that we each go through.
1. DUALISM, subject-object, a good example might be thinking that God is forgiving AND wrathful.
2. SEMI-DUALISM, Beginning to question, ie. "If God is Love can God also be hate, flawed etc?
3. NON-DUALISM, Is where your fantastic blog post question shows up, but to accurately be my example I'll restate it…If a tree falls in the forest and there is nobody there to hear it, does it still make a sound?
4. PURE NON-DUALISM, Not only does the universe not exist, I do not exist on any other level than pure spirit. Here is where the mind chooses completely against itself in favor of God.
In other words, There is no "me" – Only God.
Back to your provocative question…
If your "hearing it" duality is still ringing in your ears. :-)
Thanks for the question! :-)
