The EFF – Electronic Frontier Foundation are the people looking out for our rights online, a really big deal.

Now and then they host a nerdy event that's really good; that's how I got interested in the Java programming language in 1995. (Wait, fifteen years ago, how did that happen?)

Anyway, you might want to join them on Tuesday, April 13th for the latest installment of the Geek Reading Series with Evan Ratliff at 111 Minna Gallery.

After writing a story for Wired Magazine about people who attempted to
fake their own deaths, Evan set out to do something similar
himself. Evan will share his behind-the-scenes experiences of
what it means to disappear in the digital age, exploring the
questions of privacy, surveillance, and identity raised by his
groundbreaking experiment.
