The deal is that Sunlight Foundation is all about government accountability and transparency, helping taxpayers get what they pay for.
Previously, they had liveblogged the health care summit, factchecking and showing stuff like campaign contributions from the health industry to politicians.
They're doing the same today (sorry for late notice), with live video streaming of the Senate debate on the
financial reform bill with live-reporting by Sunlight's team including contextual
information such as campaign contributions from the financial industry to the senator speaking
in the video.
At the same time, they'll track
topics related to the financial reform debate on social media like Twitter, answer questions
and respond to comments from the audience and will provide scads of political data on
senators and on the ties they have to special interests and lobbyists.
