Hi, Craig —
A great pic! Actually, I just saw the previous post on public media and wanted to send you a note, but the comments were closed.
I’ve followed this issue a bit from the philanthropy perspective, and I think part of the problem is that some members of Congress don’t value public media (which actually get lots of their funding from private citizens) because they don’t see the impact public media have in their states and communities. That’s not an easy barrier to break through. But here’s a link to my tongue-in-cheek proposal for how it might be accomplished: http://journalismnonprofit.blogspot.com/2010/12/modest-proposal-for-de-funding-npr.html
I’m also writing because I’m working (pro bono) on a fundraising plan for Investigative News Network, which uses technology to support emerging nonprofit news organizations in communities across the country. I’d like to talk to somebody at your foundation who might offer some advice to help me develop INN’s case for philanthropy. Would you be so kind as to put me in touch with somebody there?
Best regards,
Jim Barnett
