Hey, the folks at the Department of Labor aren’t only helping vets get jobs, but they’re also making available $600K in “Stand Down” grants to fund events around the country providing homeless vets with food, clothing, medical attention and employment assistance.

Craig Connects 
I work with the North Bay Stand Down, held in Dixon every October. It’s an awesome thing, Veterans come in from our target counties, Napa, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo, as well as many other counties. We have judges to assist Veterans with small legal issues. We have the VA medical and dental onsite. Three meals a day for three days. Bus transportation to assist Veterans in getting to the Stand Down. Tents set up and taken down, thanks to Travis AFB personnel. Without grants like this and the generosity of our volunteers and sponsors, we would not be able to help 250 to 300 Veterans every year. I write grants for I-HELP (Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program)to assist homeless women. Do you know of any grants to benefit HOMELESS WOMEN or any other resources for them??

The Department of Veterans Affairs has grants and services available to help not only veterans, but homeless women veterans. It’s a huge intitiative by the Department. I suggest you contact DVA in DC for more information to connect any homeless women veterans with VA resources.

I have a non-profit 501c out reach group that work out on the field now with no funds at this time I need to know if there are grants out for this kind of services.
