Hey, sometimes fighting troops don’t have the stuff they need to do the job.
There’s a group, TroopsDirect, which directly helps out, and here’s the info on a fundraiser coming up:
“TroopsDirect serves troops on the front lines where needed gear, hygiene, service animals and nutrition supplies are scarce or non-existent.
Monday May 30, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM PDT, Oakland Coliseum, A’s versus Yankees on Memorial Day is TroopsDirect Day.
Private pregame BBQ catered by ‘Best In Show’ with live guitar action by ‘Golden Ticket’ for returning service members and honored guests of TroopsDirect. Located in K-Lot behind left field. Also:
- Active Duty Marine throwing first pitch
- A group of applicant Marines being sworn in on home plate F-16 Squadron fly-by
- Open invitation to all OIF/OEF veterans to hold the oversized flag during the national anthem.
